Here at Hills 247 we provide MOT's for Class 4 in Sherborne at only £45 at our DVSA-approved test centre.

We provide in depth break downs of what we have done and itemised billing to reflect this.

Should your vehicle need a little help to pass the test, you can rest assured that almost all repairs can be carried out on site on the same day. Any repairs and charges will be notified to you upfront, so no nasty surprises! If your car fails, it must be repaired and retested. You cannot legally drive your car on the road until the repairs have been made and a certificate issued. Most repairs can be carried out onsite at the test centre on the same day, and we will always advise you up front about any work that needs to be done.

If we are able to repair your car ourselves at the test centre, or off-site by the following day, there is no retest fee. If your car is removed from the Sherborne test centre and returned to us within 10 working days, the cost for the retest will be half of the initial test fee charged. In all other cases a full test is required and will be charged at the current rate. If your vehicle fails and you wish to appeal against the decision you should ask the testing station for a VT17 form. If your appeal is successful the fee or part of it will be returned, but you should not have your vehicle repaired before the appeal is considered as any change may affect the outcome of the appeal.

MOT testing is a legal requirement for all cars and vehicles over 3 years old, with the purpose of making sure that your car meets the minimum safety requirements.

Without a valid MOT, your car insurance and road tax become invalidated and your car may not be road worthy. Therefore it’s important that you make sure your MOT certificate is in date and you book your next MOT before your current certificate expires. You can do this up to one month before the end of your current MOT certificate.

There is no obligation for onsite repair work. If your vehicle fails its MOT you do not have to have the repair work done by us, giving you that extra peace of mind.

Qualified testers.  All of our MOT testers are fully trained and certified by the governing body DVSA

The test is designed to ensure that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards.

Many failures we see every day could be prevented by drivers carrying out some simple checks before bringing their vehicle in. Common avoidable faults include light bulbs, tyre condition and pressure, mirrors, wipers and washers.
